Nepal emergency

“J’étais au Népal avec deux autres membres (Marie et Martine) de l’association Ecoliers du Monde pour lancer l’année scolaire.
The 25 avril 2015 le 1er séisme d’une magnitude 7,8 nous a surpris en pleine journée et nous nous sommes immédiatement retrouvés au milieu de décombres et au coeur de la panique collective.
Un réflexe, fuir le centre ville pour rejoindre la campagne puis mettre en place un hébergement provisoire sous une toile de tente pour éviter les conséquences des répliques. Sains et saufs oui, mais définitivement marqués et choqués par ce que nous avons vu et ressenti.
En peu de temps, le Népal a connu 2 tremblements de terre importants le 25 avril puis le 12 mai et plus de 300 répliques depuis.
Les sols déstabilisés et les premières pluies de la mousson ont généré plus de 3000 glissements de terrain engloutissant des villages entiers et privant l’accès aux secours. De nombreux villages sont complètement détruits. Ce sont environ 8 500 000 personnes qui sont impactées par ces évènements et se retrouvent sans abri, soit un peu plus d’un tiers de la population du pays. Le bilan humain est d’environ 8 700 morts actuellement. Il est à craindre que la mousson, n’aggrave encore ce triste bilan.”
