CHIME : this is the first name of my goddaughter in Nepal.
Today she has 10 years and I have sponsored her for 2015.
I had in mind to meet him for many years, without ever taking the first step.
This year, I finally dared and left for Nepal!
During this magnificent journey, I finally met Chime and this meeting was a magical moment.
I saw her coming towards me, she took my hand and the emotion was intense. His smile spoke volumes.
The language barrier did not facilitate our exchanges, but his look, her little hand placed on mine and her smiles reassured me in my choice to help her go to school.
This changed his life and without our financial support, she would not have been able to continue her studies.
Certainly, she is very far from her family, but I think she is aware of how lucky she is, thanks to this sponsorship.
I would have liked to extend this stay, but the return to France was imminent. This separation was not easy, our eyes were full of tears.
In his eyes, I thought I saw an invitation for a future meeting in this wonderful country and a big thank you.
Learn more about Chime:
Chime was supported in 2015 by Ecoliers du Monde when she had 6 year.
Ses parents, who live in the small village of Nubri in a mountain valley in the Gorkha district, live with difficulty from the produce of their farm and have three children.
They requested help from a school that we know well so that Chime could be educated and accommodated in a boarding school near Kathmandu..
We met her in 2015, she is a mischievous and smiling little girl.
On 2018, she meets Bernard, her godfather, who was staying in Nepal.
Chime is also learning Tibetan, music, and would like to become a Tibetan teacher later.
