On 2012, I got to know Ecoliers du Monde through Pascale and Claude who told me about their actions.
I immediately liked the reasonable size of this association and the willingness to visit schools at least once a year.
This closeness prompted me to sponsor Sunita who was educated at Bhrikuti Seconday School..
She lives in Jorpati with her mom who is a carpet worker, his little sister 7 years Deepeka and her grandmother.
When Marc suggested that I go on a trek with several members of the association, I accepted without hesitation to have the opportunity to meet Sunita.
It was in Kathmandu that I had the chance to spend some time with Sunita and her mom Anju.
I had some apprehension, not knowing how I was going to be greeted or how we were going to communicate.
They were very (too much) intimidated but we were able to exchange thanks to Asha who did the translation.
I had prepared a small photo album to explain where I lived and to let them know about my family.
I was very happy to share time with them and to discover, thanks to this trip, their particularly difficult lifestyle.
Afterwards, I regularly sent letters to Sunita.
Sadly, following the earthquake of 2015, Sunita and her family returned to live in their village of origin..
This sponsorship ended rather abruptly but I hope Sunita was able to continue her education in her village and that she is happy..
In October 2016, godmother of Dinesh (17year) that I had met during the trek, is dead.
So I agreed to help him finish his studies by resuming the individual sponsorship.
The association offered him to take a work-study technical training in the field of graphic design and computer network maintenance..
We also agreed to finance part of his computer (in nepal, the material for work is not provided by the employer).
Today, Dinesh was able to find a job right after her training.
We keep in touch thanks to Facebook.
It is a great success for a first technical training funded by Ecoliers du Monde.
