Ecoliers du Monde was contacted at the start of the year 2019 by the youth sector of the MJC of Saint Priest which organized the 30 last april a solidarity dance competition: SOLIDANCE.
7 groups of young dancers from 9 To 18 years participated in this meeting.
Each group supported a humanitarian association, with the key, if successful, a nice sum, from the sale of admission tickets, handed over to the partner association.
This is the group Tika Crew (12 children) who had chosen, with their host Virginie, to support Ecoliers du Monde. The children met 2 members of the association for s’ inform about actions in favor of Nepalese schoolchildren.
Learning that the association collected used pens to resell them to a recycling company, they immediately launched a collection and a full bag was given away on the day of the contest. And it's not over.. They will continue to collect for the association…
The young dancers had chosen to dress up like Nepalese schoolchildren who, let's remember it, wear school uniform. They were therefore dressed in a pleated skirt or dark pants and with a colorful tie of the most beautiful effect.! Real Nepalese school kids!
Evelyn, volunteer for Ecoliers du Monde also wore a traditional Nepali costume and accompanied the young people throughout the evening.
A Nepalese craft stand has been set up in the performance hall.
It was a very lively and warm evening., all the groups have shown themselves to be very invested. The audience was spellbound.
Unfortunately the children of Tika Crew did not win despite their great motivation… “the important thing is to participate” said one of the children…They were a little disappointed and at the same time very proud of their performance.
Ready to start again next year!
