Christmas market in JANVRY 91 Schoolchildren of the World Association
The Cessoie school in Saint André in the North organized a shared meal, the profits of which were offered to the Écoliers du Monde association.
Marie-Noëlle, a member of the association led meetings with the students in each class.
The projection of photos and videos made it possible to present the life of Nepalese schoolchildren and to explain their living conditions.
The children were very interested and their questions were not lacking in relevance..
A check for €420 was given to Ecoliers du Monde by the school management, whom we thank.
This sum will be allocated to equipping the Kaphaldanda boarding school, which benefits from the help of our association to enable the schooling of children from remote villages.
Thanks to the children, to the teaching team and parents of the Cessoie school for their investment.
The teaching team at the Sainte Thérèse school in Lille, of which one member is part of the association, decided at the start of the year to motivate students in actions in favor of’ Schoolchildren of the World.
This is how in January, the students decorated hyacinths which were sold to parents after school.
In February, the children, from the youngest in kindergarten to the oldest in CM2, participated in an action entitled “words for Nepal”.
It was about working on words, sentences, texts related to Nepal and the parents’ association rewarded each student’s success with a donation of €1. There have been 199 achievements.
In March, the children prepared the Spring market with their teachers ; they made decorative objects in class, cakes, decorated with plants and all this was sold on a Friday evening in the main hall of the school.
Finally, in April, “the Sherpa race” took place which brought together all the students of the school in a large park to run on a circuit. Many parents were present and also participated in the race. Each, child or parent, gave 1€ for participation, and many donations were added. The total distance traveled by everyone was 399.7km, i.e. the distance between Lille and Tours…
A ceremony to hand over the total amount collected was organized in June and a member of the association received a check for €1,067.
Thank you all, children, parents, teachers, for this great project which will allow the Ecoliers du Monde association to help children go to school.
The teaching team at Saint Luc school in Lys les Lannoy (North) organized a cross country in which all the children from the school and many parents participated.
Each child who ran looked for sponsors. The accumulated donations made it possible to raise a nice sum at the end of the race.
A little later in the year, it’s a “Lenten meal” operation (Bowl of rice) which took place and which also made it possible to raise money.
At the same time, a member of Ecoliers du Monde went to the school to show the children a slideshow and a film on life in Nepal and the daily life of Nepalese schoolchildren..
The students of Saint Luc showed their interest by asking many questions.
In total, a sum of €2,550 was offered by the Saint Luc school to Ecoliers du Monde in June 2017.
This donation will be used to equip a school destroyed by the earthquake in 2015, that the association is currently helping with the reconstruction.
Thanks to the children, to parents, to the teaching team and the head of the Saint Luc school for investing in this project.
All these actions and many more were carried out by Marie-Noëlle, a volunteer from the Ecoliers du Monde association.
