Christmas market in JANVRY 91 Schoolchildren of the World Association
We intervened at the end of February 2024 au François Auguste Ravier college in Morestel to present to more than 150 5th grade students our humanitarian actions.
For over six years now, volunteers from Ecoliers du Monde intervene at Morestel college (38) with unfailing commitment.
With the agreement of the Head of the establishment and the support of the teachers, this year again we had the pleasure of meeting approximately 150 students of 5 5eme classes. These interventions were part of a specific themed week organized by the establishment.. This was a valuable opportunity to raise awareness among young people about the schooling conditions of children in developing countries.. We took this opportunity to explain to them how a humanitarian association like ours works..
Throughout the sessions, the students expressed their curiosity and interest by asking numerous questions to the speakers, particularly on the daily life of families and children in Nepal, where part of our actions are concentrated.
In addition to our interventions, throughout this special week, display panels placed in the passage hall of the college made it possible to present the Ecoliers du Monde association and its actions.
The refectory staff mobilized for this action by offering an excellent dal bhat on their menu in order to introduce the students to the traditional Nepalese dish..
These moments of exchange and awareness are valuable for strengthening students’ social awareness and encouraging them to engage in humanitarian actions themselves.. It is also a fantastic opportunity to create lasting links between the association, the college and the educational community as a whole.
It is also an opportunity for teachers to set up a collective project in order to financially participate in the education of a Nepalese child.. The students are mobilizing to collect a large volume of used pens and felt-tip pens in order to give them to Marie-Annick, a volunteer initiating a partnership with TERRACYCLE. This organization recycles objects to limit final waste and recovers recovered materials in order to create new objects.. TERRACYCLE pays for the return of each kilogram of pens and thus contributes to the association’s revenue.
We warmly thank the staff of the François Auguste Ravier college who participate in this action without forgetting Laurence, school nurse, who initiated this project.
