On 2015, we created a partner NGO in Nepal called SHAIKSHIK HATEMALO (trad. “Together for Education”) in charge of facilitating relations with schools and sponsored children, but also to ensure the official visibility of our actions with the Nepalese administrative authorities.
Throughout the year 2025, discussions with our partner NGO were very difficult. In July, the approval of the NGO having not been renewed with the Nepalese Ministry of Social Affairs, no money transfer could be made in 2025 and tuition fees could not be paid in time.
Beginning 2026, the president of this association, Pramod, was no longer able to carry out his duties and decided to stop his mission. We thank him for all the work accomplished over the last few years..
As soon as the news is received, another solution had to be quickly developed. Saru Khakurel, director of the Victor Hugo Manjushree school, where we have sponsored children and with whom we are in regular contact, offered us his help and collaboration. It was then that we worked together with “Victor Hugo Foundation” in Nepal and the association “VHMAVI” in France to build a new operating scenario.
From now on therefore, the relay association on site is called Victor Hugo Foundation (who replaces Shikshik Hatemalo) with Saru at its head.
We quickly got to work to be able to settle the outstanding tuition fees.. Then, last May, we built, together with Saru, the EdM budget for these 3 next few years which has already been accepted by the Nepalese authorities.
It was also decided to employ Kiran Lohani who will share her time between Ecoliers du Monde and VHMAVI with the main mission of ensuring the link with sponsored children and the Nepalese administration.
